Poégraphies séries : Freischwimmer im kalten Wasser
Freischwimmer im kalten Wasser (Open Water Swimmer in Cold Waters) is the logbook of a circular journey retracing decades of personal history evaporated into a formidable temporal abstraction. It takes place in a city whose wall has fallen, yet whose invisible presence remains palpable, and whose protective and distinctive value is sometimes missed.
Bruno Green, Friedrichshain, Berlin - juin 2018
Freischwimmer im kalten Wasser is no exception within The Poegraphies series. Far from being a simple travelogue, this dreamlike journal offers a meditation on resilience, solitude, and the necessity of cherishing anguish as a bulwark before rediscovering the taste for life. It is addressed to an audience sensitive to the originality of hybrid forms, proposing an immersive experience where melancholy is not an end in itself, but a driver toward lucidity. By summoning origins to reawaken the essence of the journey undertaken, Bruno Green offers a work that, while rooted in a personal Berlin experience, resonates as a universal truth about the condition of the "shipwrecked of eternity" searching for a haven within the dream.

Far beyond sorrow lies our intimate kingdom, one that, having become invincible in its pain, fears nothing anymore—neither from others nor from ourselves. Between rebirth and perdition, to rise above all expectation, above all hope.

To each their own sky, to each their own stars; when day melts away, there is nothing to be done. The very nature of darkness is its inability to reflect light; it rises as a dense, impassable wall, mute and deaf to our pleas. No one knows when they reach this wall, yet one must not forget that only night leads to the morrow.

Final lap for sad clowns and collared beasts, a tightrope walker dashes toward the stars while the equestrienne is now but a distant gallop.

There is never a change of life. There is only one life, a single one, in a world that holds value only through the gaze we cast upon it—a personal horizon viewed through the prism of a sensitive poetry. Every second that turns away from it is merely boredom and time forever lost.
